Join us at the Red Paper House studio to learn how to cast with the material jesmonite.
What is jesmonite? Jesmonite is a versatile, eco-friendly composite, water-based acrylic resin. It is a safe, solvent-free alternative to traditional epoxy resin, concrete, and plaster. It contains no VOCs and is durable, making it the perfect material for making lightweight decorative castings like coasters, trays, and jewellery.
In this workshop we will learn how to dye and mix jesmonite, observing the casting and curing process and making our own small homeware accessories from a choice of trinket trays, candle holders and bud vases. We will learn the finishing process and how to expose terrazzo patterns to create unique pattern finishes - where desired.
All materials are provided for the session - it is advisable to wear comfortable and non precious clothing as the process can be messy. Safety gloves and masks will be…
